I turn my back for a moment - when I left to see the Grand daughters in Geneva -

who were busy looking after the neighbor’s kitten - the lawn had just started to be noticed, the swallows had arrived and were on recce mode, and the fruit blossom was dropping after some late frosts.

An unexciting river.
And a few days later on my return , everything was at full gallop - swallows dive bombing me in my garage ,house martins building in every spare gap and fruit bushes are threatening a record with embryonic black currants , gooseberries, and plums. Something went right - possibly water!
And everything that was born in a very dry and cold spring was thriving - the highlands calves look happy.

Even if there was a little jealousy at times.

Goats eyeing up the neighbour’s hay.
But the goats are always popular in their own right -

Gav keen to check anyone heading down the lane
The bantam continued to hide her eggs - the problem with this nest is we were always going to need the hay.

Not very well hidden nest
And with all the young stock growing so fast these 3 young pigs , from an earlier spring litter , will soon be heading for the woods and shade to keep cool for the summer.

What has been fun is having people who are keen to join us for either a farm tour or a longer farm experience . This couple helped us to move the young stock up the hill to new pastures .

The long forgotten film crew from the autumn apparently really were filming a film, and the final product is hitting the cinemas next week .
28 Years Later (that’s the name) will hopefully include some very handsome highland cattle and 3 very cute young pigs - also any bodies in the grass could be my sister in law trying to avoid hay fever.
See you in the cinema .
